Prayer When Persecuted
God who was despised and rejected, arrested and executed,
Give us courage and patience in all our afflictions.
When we are confined, by walls, or fears or weakness,
teach us that in Your service we can be free.
When we are weary, grant our souls rest in You.
When we despair, show us that for You nothing is impossible.
When we feel alone, reveal to us Your eternal love.
Keep us walking humbly with You on Your earth,
with our hearts fixed in Your kingdom,
so that we may strive for justice, mercy and peace
for all Your children.
