A Prayer for Autumn
The nights are growing longer, but the love of God remains steadfast.
God who calms the storm and changes water into wine:
As we watch the seasons change,
and see the abundance of the fields and orchards,
let us be mindful of our place in creation.
You gave us a special and privileged role in the world:
help us to fulfil that responsibility.
Let us rejoice in You who made us,
and become the people You created us to be.
We remember those who feel that their life is empty,
who struggle to find purpose,
who feel that they've failed.
Show them the fullness of Your generous love,
which embraces each of Your children uniquely,
encourages the weary
and comforts the afflicted.
