Researchers and i-church
i-church is the online community of the Diocese of Oxford. It was founded in 2004 and seeks to explore mission and discipleship in the online context.
We are keen to further understanding of our work in the online environment and are happy to co-operate with researchers and journalists.
i-church maintains a collection of public sites and one private site where the core community meet.
Researchers and journalists are welcome to view our public sites and to join the public forums (“The Courtyard”) to interact with members. Please note and adhere to the forum rules which are posted at the top of each forum.
The core community site is for members only, ie those who wish to commit to the community as long term members. The aim of the core community is to explore forms of online community and missional community together. There are about 30 members and small number of forums. The most active forum is the prayer forum where personal prayer concerns are shared. We also have ‘small groups’ for those who want to explore a particular aspect of discipleship. At the moment we have groups for vocations, spiritual direction and Rule of Life.
There is an expectation of complete confidentiality among members of the core community and it does not admit observers.
