Please pray for Jack and old fellow worshiper of Old Church who was annointed this evening at hospital and also pray for his wife Audrey, they have not long past their Dimond wedding anniversary a couple of full love and devotion to themselves and the Church. :cross:

Prayer Requests

Post by helen b » Tue Sep 08, 2009 2:05 am

I'd really appreciate some prayer for a few people who are having a really tough time at the moment...:

- for my mum, who's been feeling a bit like Job for the last 5 or 6 years: restoration of faith, which has been severely shaken; patience in suffering and in the people and situations that are causing it; strength to overcome the things that are pulling her down; and trust that things will turn out alright and that God will carry her through.

- Also, resolution of those situations that are creating so much worry - particularly selling the house.

- for my dad: that he will start to live by God's Word and that he will be offered a job.

- for my friend MP and her family, whose father died a few days ago: that God will comfort them and give them peace and that they will come to know Him.

- for my Grandad, recovering from a recent & v serious heart operation months after overcoming bladder cancer: that he will also come to know God and take comfort in Him, and that he will gain in strength, courage and optimism over the coming weeks and months.

- more generally, I really want to pray for more joy in the world - for a more positive outlook everywhere: for all of us to take pleasure in God's creation, rather than taking on world worries like money, violence and politics, and allowing them to become an all-consuming burden. (Philippians 4:4 & Matthew 11:28-30)

Many thanks

my what a lot you are coping with just now

Prayer Requests

Post by D in China » Fri Sep 18, 2009 6:24 am

Hello all

I'm a bit rusty in praying myself, and I have some rather selfish prayer requests. But I trust you will help me.

God intervened a few weeks ago when I was going to do something wrong. I invited him to stop me, and he did ! I'm still in a state of shock about that, but don't think that that was a bad thing. If anything it helped me realise how much I had been ignoring him, and how I had been letting myself and those around me down.

Could I please ask you pray that I remember God's grace every day, and that I not slip into selfishness and sin? I am terrible at remembering all that he has given me, and I need the extra push from outside to stay on the right path.

Thank you !
