Pray for my family

Post by ftm42 » Sun Oct 04, 2009 5:47 pm

:bawling: Please pray for me to control my temper and to be less of a pushover as a Mum. Pray that I can use some 'tough love' to teach my kids to respect me - I've been far too soft for too long, resulting in too many tears and now I need strength to be strong with and for them.

:votive1:
For strength and courage in the complexities of family life.
For confidence that you're not expected to be perfect, just to do your best.

Welcome to i-church, ftm42.
As a mother of two teenagers I feel like that too sometimes.

I pray for strength for you, and that you will wake to every new day with new hope and energy.
Also that you will grow together as a family.

A little lost in the world.

praying here ftm42....for strength and support in the difficult work of being a parent ...for patience and tolerence and wisdom as you set boundaries and work at your relationships with your children ....and for kindness to yourself

:votive1:
In the triumph of prayer
Twofold is the spell.
With the folding of hands
There's a spreading of wings
And the soul's lifted up to invisible lands
And ineffable peace .....

ftm42, Welcome to i-church!!

Being a Parent is a huge responsibility and can be pretty frustrating.

Restraint, tolerance and patience, combined with love and tenderness seem to be the appropriate qualities essential to the role.

I pray that all of these and the Grace and Peace of the Holy Spirit will be with you and your family to help you to move on in this. :votive1: :votive1:
Where there is hope and love there is life!
God is Life!
God is Hope!
God is Love!
God Is!!

Praying that yoor relationships with your children will develop into a pattern of mutual respect and understanding.

(I know from personal experience that doesn't always seem possible - but they do grow up and start to see your point of view occasionally!)

 Sounds like you're on right path ftm42; making the decision to ‘nip things in the bud’ is a good start. It’s a tuff place to be in, I had two very ‘out of control teenagers’ to deal with so empathize where you’re coming from.

Praying for you all; be kind to your self and don’t be afraid to ask for support
