Advent 2020

We have a re-issued and updated advent calendar - the windows will start twinkling, one at a time, next Tuesday.

The theme is 'Waiting', which is a perennial theme of Advent, but also feels very appropriate for this strange year.

Have a peaceful and blessed Advent everyone.

Tier Two COVID19 Regulations in England

I think it probably all looks different when you're on the inside - parts of Wales are in a pretty bad way. The R rate is pretty much the same for all the nations of the UK, and, if anything, is slightly lower for England than for Scotland and Wales.

Let's not get into political discussions.

Tier Two COVID19 Regulations in England

It seems that we in Wales are about to go into full lockdown from next Friday for 17 days - right back to where we were from March this year. Personally it is not a great problem for me, although if it were to be extended (because it is either successful or unsuccessful) I would have problems with n...

How Can I Keep From Singing?

One of my all time favourite songs, but it hadn't occurred to me how appropriate it is at the moment! Thanks Pam.

Inspiration

This is a link to a poem written for January 1st this year by Gideon Heugh. It seems very relevant to current events, even though it was written before we had any idea of what was going to happen! I would also highly recommend Devastating Beauty , which is a collection of poems by the same author.

Things to do if you can't leave the house

It's 4 miles in a straight line, so 5-6 miles by road, some of it very steep! Not something I could manage, unfortunately.

Things to do if you can't leave the house

On a more earthly level, Coast Magazine has produced a list of things to do when stuck at home.

One thing I am finding infuriating is being within 4 miles of the coast, and in sight of the sea, but not able to actually get to it!
