Mary Magdalene, was not mistaken. Jesus had risen, his resurrection is the sign of new life for all mankind. Jesus has risen Alleluia.

"Jesus brought hope to people who felt they weren’t good enough to ask for God’s love and forgiveness. He transformed people’s lives with his healing power. And even in death, his influence and example changed the way people lived."

With the Resurrection to come, his life and death, provide the completion of his fathers Covenent and promise for a redeemer to salve the whole world from its sin. How many promises do we break to him, when we should be acknowledging him in our life and work? To many.

The life, death and resurrection of Jesus fulflled a promise made by his father to the wold, to send a Messiah, who would wash away the sin of the world.

He kept his promise to us - we are called to keep our promise to follow him, unto death if necessary. To keep the faith, to Glorify him forever in this life and to be with him for ever in the next.

How hard it can be to meet our part of the bargain, so many distractions and cares, worries and stress. So much war, poverty, famine, suffering, natural disaster - the moral queston to us is how can we overcome all of these to create God's Kingdom on earth to prepare for his Kingdom in heaven.

I found it interesting that our Parish Priest chose this, one new Commandment given by Jesus to the Discples at teh last supper, Love each other as I have loved you, as the theme of his sermon at Holy Communion this evening.

He outlined the reasons, why he believed that this Commandment, was one of the most important messages that we could take with us and as a rule for life.

Betrayal by Judas, which Jesus knew of, predicted, and was part of the Sacrifice that Jesus was prepared for and made for us.

30 pieces of silver were worth more than a Mans life to Judas, how many of us betray Jesus each day, through our thoughts, words and deeds, or lack of deeds? We are all sinners, who Jesus was sent to redeem.

How great a sacrifice are we prepared to make for a new life in Christ? Jesus gave his life to redeem us, we must be prepared to die to Sin to live again in a new life with Jesus. That is the sacrifice we are called to make.

"Jesus says ‘Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life’."

A commentary on my past life, which I can recognise and feel regret for. Now reconciled to it and to Jesus Christ, I strive to walk in the light all of my life.

Jesus set an example of humility and obedience to his father, and called us to follow him - an option open to all. Sacrifice of the good things in this life, will not go unrewarded in the next.

Ernest commented: The message is clear - if we accept God and Centre him in ourselves, we become Christlike and are promised to be with him in eternal life. What greater reward can man aspire to?

Funny you should say that! Look out for tomorrow's entry, which should appear fairly soon... ;)

The Story of Mary Madgelene, washing the Feet of Jesus, is emotive and the consequent lesson provided by it reminds us that our inner motives are clear and completely transparent to Jesus. He knows us inside out, our strengths and weaknesses, and accepts us all the same. He made the Sacrifice on the Cross, obedient to his father, and with his Resurrection, redeemed us from our sins.
Also posted on the topic in the Lent Forum:

The outcome for Judas, who was called to follow Jesus, but who seems to have never truly accepted Jesus as the true Son of God in his inner heart, or he would not have been capable of thinking or acting in the way he did. The subsequent betrayal and ending of the story for Judas is death and separation from God completely in the next life.

The message is clear - if we accept God and Centre him in ourselves, we become Christlike and are promised to be with him in eternal life. What greater reward can man aspire to?

This commentary reflects the sermon at Sung Eucharist this morning.

Our Priest also read a reflection on a surving sermon of St Andrew of Crete, which reflected the sacrifice that Jesus made for us all.

When you actually think through all that happened on Palm Sunday, the welcome into Jerusalum, by those who misunderstood why Jesus had come, thinking that he was coming to free them from Roman Tyrany, when in fact he had come to Redeem all mankind of Sin forever, it is wonderful how the events were recorded and explained to us, some two thousand years later.

While on my way to church, I listened to a Thought for the Day from a Jehovah Witness Minister, who also commented on The Passion and Death of Christ and described himself as a Christian - this is helpful to understand his perspective on the Death and Resurrection of Jesus.

All thought provoking and makes you long for more
